Hostinger Review 2021: Read My Opinion | Is it Worth Buying?

Hostinger is a website hosting provider that can host your website or blog at a low price of  2.15$/month, and yes, it doesn’t matter which website building platform you use to build your site, be it WordPress Drupal, Joomla, or Magento.

The Hostinger program will also provide you with 10GB of disk space which is like double the icing on the cake, as other host providers mostly offer space up to 1 GB.

So basically, you’ll never have to scratch your head when it comes to disk space.

Hostinger Feature Highlights.

• Pocket-friendly and reliable: It may be like a gold mine for bloggers looking for cost-effective services and the proper functioning of websites. It is quite a satisfactory website hosting service that is free for a lifetime.

• PHP and SQL support:  Most web hosting services provide a drag and drop site builder in a free package and deprive you of PHP and SQL until you pay for that and offer it only in the premium package. However, Hostinger provides free PHP and SQL support, which arguably makes this service the best WordPress hosting service.

• No ads and banners: WordPress (Automatic Inc) does not let you advertise on your blog if your purchase web hosting through their service. In fact, WordPress will show its own selected ads on your blog, and you won’t get a penny in consideration. Hostinger’s free hosting package is not subjected to show an advertisement on your website.

• Easy and cheap website builder: Hostinger is aided with the Zyro website builder, which allows you to design a 5-page website by drag and drop feature, with more than 100 templates to choose from. This last one could be the most specialized. Minecraft hosting is available from Hostinger, allowing users to play the popular video game on a multiplayer server.

There are five different plans to choose from, each with instant setup, a mobile app, and automatic off-site backups.

Dedicated Hosting:

All of Hostinger’s shared WordPress, cloud, and VPS plans come with a comprehensive set of features. However, if you’ve worked with other hosting companies or have been looking for a while, you may be wondering where Hostinger’s dedicated hosting plans are.

One of Hostinger’s main flaws is that it does not have dedicated hosting as most other providers do.

Of course, if you’re looking for a dedicated plan, this will make or break your decision, but it’s also a consideration to consider if you want to start with a shared or VPS plan and then scale up to dedicated later.

Reliability and Performance:

There is no such thing as a 100% uptime guarantee from a web host. However, as a general rule, you can strive for a 99.97-99.99 per cent uptime, which translates to between 50 and 150 minutes of downtime each year.

Even better, unlike many other hosting companies, Hostinger makes details about the performance of its servers available to the public. Now, Hostinger has many advantages, but we’ll be honest: one of them is uptime.

Hostinger received just two stars out of five for uptime, which is very low.

This service provider promises 99.9% uptime, which equates to around 7 hours and 53 minutes of downtime each year. Of course, that number reflects the worst-case scenario, but you can aim to prevent more than 1-3 hours of downtime each year if at all possible.

SSL Security.

A free SSL certificate is included in Hostinger’s Business shared plan, which is perfect for small businesses looking to protect their clients’ data. Previously, you had to pay for SSL unless you wanted the Business shared hosting plan, but now you can get one for free – even if you choose the cheapest Single shared hosting plan!

It’s unusual to have to buy a basic-level SSL separately from a hosting package. However, if you want to upgrade to a higher level of protection, Hostinger charges an extra fee, just like its competitors.

The SSL Certificate Activation is a normal SSL certificate that some other hosting providers offer for free. At the same time, the Comodo PositiveSSL Certificate is an improved security measure that any hosting provider will charge an extra fee for.

The Comodo certificate is ideal for eCommerce because it instils trust in consumers who will enter your platform’s personal data. However, for smaller, more personal pages, we suggest using the regular SSL Certificate Activation.

Hostinger has also recently introduced two-factor authentication for its users, which means you can identify yourself as the account owner using both your email and phone number. Any account now has a second, manual layer of protection thanks to two-factor authentication.

Customer Support.

Hostinger provides a wealth of customer service tools, including a knowledge base, live chat, email, and help tickets, all of which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Hostinger earned a decent 3.5 out of 5 stars for its assistance and service.

Hostinger’s customer service team is multilingual and ready to answer questions from all over the world, one of the company’s standout features. But it’s Hostinger’s vast library of how-to posts that makes it stand out. From building a dropdown menu to duplicating a website in WordPress, these tutorials cover it all.

But, as impressive as these tutorials are, Hostinger also lacks a critical component of customer service: a phone number. Unfortunately, this provider does not have phone help, which can be inconvenient if you find live chat impersonal. Hostinger is expected to launch in-house phone support in 2020, but in the meantime, their live chat is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Don’t worry if you can’t find Hostinger’s live chat on the website; chat support is only open to signed-in Hostinger customers.

Speed Tests Performed.

That’s what I’m searching for: pace and uptime. But, unfortunately, shared hosting services often fail in these regions. The explanation for this is that, as the name suggests, you’re sharing resources with a large number of other users and their websites – often hundreds.

It takes a great host to keep things in check and prevent a bottleneck scenario where everyone is unhappy.

With Pingdom:

Of course, getting a real-world perspective on success is also beneficial. For example, Pingdom can measure page speeds, and Load Impact can be used to evaluate loading times under pressure.

Let’s start with some page speed tests.

Pingdom is a common and useful tool for this, and a simple test is available for free. We created a simple website on Hostinger’s servers that included the default theme, a few important plugins, and the WordPress Theme Unit Test Data to complete our test. We then used Pingdom to test our site’s URL from a variety of different locations.

The averages of three tests from each position are shown in the following table:

Washington D.C.: 0.81 seconds
London: 0.54 seconds
San Francisco: 1.12 seconds
Tokyo: 1.57 seconds
Sydney: 2.49 seconds

Overall, these are excellent results. Keeping the page loading times under two seconds is considered best practice. Anything above that can cause your bounce rate to increase (how many visitors leave after viewing only one page).

Based on these findings, we can see that Hostinger’s servers perform admirably on both sides of the Atlantic and especially well in London.

Furthermore, both of the other sites we investigated were within appropriate parameters. We can deduce from this that Hostinger is likely to have serviceable speed in most English-speaking countries.

With Load Impact:

Let’s take a look at how our site handles traffic next. We’ll need to use a different method for this: Load Effect.

This allows you to simulate a large number of simulated visitors to your website, and it’s a perfect way to see how well it handles stress.

We noticed that as the request rate increased (the purple line), the response time (the blue line) became a little choppy, but Load Impact found no performance issues.

Hostinger’s shared servers would suffice for many websites. However, if you want to manage a high-traffic site – or see sudden spikes once your site is live – an updated plan might be the better option.

How Does Hostinger’s Pricing Work?

Single, Premium, and Business shared hosting plans are affordable. All three are built on top of Hostinger’s own control panel, cPanel, which includes simple WordPress and hundreds of other content management system installations (CMS).

Unlimited bandwidth, email accounts, and websites are included in the two advanced plans. However, SSH support for you Linux-savvy developers, unlimited subdomains, and unlimited databases are some of the extra features you won’t get with the Single plan.

The only important feature missing from the basic plan is automatic regular backups, which means you’ll have to perform backups manually or buy the service as a separate add-on.

The Hostinger package has a different price due to the wide range of hosting styles and features. However, Hostinger’s rates range from $0.99 to $129.95 a month and are very competitive with the rest of the industry.

We understand what you’re thinking: why such a broad selection? Hostinger, like other hosting companies, uses enticingly low promotional rates to lure customers in. The more time you devote to your initial purchase, the more money you save – but only on that initial purchase. This is something to keep in mind when checking out.

For example, if you buy the Single shared plan four years in advance, you’ll pay a total of 99 cents x 48 months = $47.52 at checkout.

Why Do We Like Hostinger?

Well Designed and Easy To Use:

Simply put, Hostinger’s user experience experts have created an amazing interface and user journey, from signup to usage and management of your hosting. The problem is that Hostinger’s business model is based on continually pressuring you to upgrade and buy extras. It’s irritating at best and perplexing at worst.

However, the plans are clearly set out, and Hostinger only requires your name, email address, and password to sign up. Thank you for eliminating all of the useless knowledge that other hosts are so eager to gather.

Connect your Domain and Install WordPress:

It was time to add a domain and install WordPress after purchasing my plan. I was given the option to get WordPress installed automatically as part of the signup process. Still, I preferred to do it the old-fashioned way, through the control panel, to see how Hostinger’s tools compare to those offered by other hosts.

When we bought the Single plan, our domain was included for free, so it was already linked to the hosting.

Only the advanced plans now come with a free domain, for some reason. It’s simple to add your domain name if you get it from a different provider.

All you have to do is copy and paste the nameserver information from the top of your hosting details page into your domain panel.

cPanel has all the basic features:

Hostinger has created its own proprietary control panel, so you won’t be able to use your favourite cPanel. What exactly is it?

You don’t get attached to your hosting control panels emotionally?

You, on the other hand, are the odd one out.

Regardless, things have changed since cPanel was the standard control panel for most hosts (including Hostinger). Hosts have been flipping panels left and right due to some dull enterprise intrigue that occurred a while ago.

Hostinger’s foray into the panel world is cPanel, which comes with all the bells and whistles you’ll like. It has a lot in common with cPanel, including fast auto-installs and DNS zone settings, email accounts, a file manager, and MySQL databases.

Powerful Caching:

LiteSpeed is the webserver technology used by Hostinger, not the actual metal server. It consistently ranks as one of the fastest and most stable web servers, outperforming older Apache technology, which is still used by hosts such as GoDaddy.

You won’t need to do anything to set it up. Instead, simply relax and enjoy the exceptional performance it provides, especially for WordPress websites.

Complementary SSL Certificate:

The many evils hiding online will come from your data if you don’t have an SSL certificate to encrypt and protect it. As a result, you’ll not only jeopardize your project and the protection of your visitors, but you’ll also lose ground in Google’s rankings.

All of Hostinger’s plans now include an SSL certificate. Unfortunately, no certificate was given in the figurative yesterday, which in my case was just a few months ago. It’s anyone’s guess what will happen tomorrow. Hostinger likes to tinker with its plan features, so double-check to ensure an SSL is included in your plan. It’s worth noting that if an SSL isn’t included, you can buy one as a separate add-on. That shouldn’t be the case, though.

Value for money:

Hostinger’s rates are particularly competitive. I say, 103 dollars a month?

That’s almost too inexpensive. So what’s the catch, exactly?

Hostinger needs you to sign up for a long time, and it’s ready to reward you for doing so. There are four payment options: monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly, and quadrennially.

The last word refers to a four-year commitment, and it’s rarely used because almost no other host requires you to sign up for that long.

The good news is that if you sign up for four years, you can get the best deal on shared hosting available. For a yearly contract, some hosts charge a similar amount. Make your own calculations.

What happens if you sign up for a shorter period of time? Bi-annual and annual plans aren’t cheap, but they’re more in line with the industry average. On the other hand, monthly plans come with a setup fee and aren’t cost-effective.

The plans are fully on par with the industry norm in terms of value, as long as an SSL is included (check!). There’s even a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to try out the service to see if it’s right for you.
